How We Farm
We take pride in how we raise our cattle. The cattle graze on green pastures with plenty of room to roam. We do not feed the cows hormones. The cattle are not stressed and we like to call them "happy" cows. The market animals are birthed on our farm and due to the low stress environments and no exposure from outside sources, we do not have to administer antibiotics and do not include any in their feed. We only administer antibiotics to cattle when it is absolutely necessary for an animal's survival and at which the animal would then be pulled and not enter our market cycle. We are also BQA certified.
We offer both grass fed/grass finished and grass fed/grain finished beef.
The feed our cattle is fed is raised on our farm except for some protein sources we have to buy. This protein comes from soybeans. We do not use any animal byproducts. The grain we feed is corn. The haylage is made from rye, wheat and grass. Dry hay is made mostly from Bermuda grass. Corn silage is also a big part of our feeding program.
We have two calving seasons ... spring and fall. We wean at about 6 months. At this time, calves are vaccinated, banded and pre-conditioned for six weeks before selling as feeders and/or replacement heifers.
